A useful angle to take in a relationship, business, community etc. is the ‘Greater Good’. We tend to get caught up in our own little world which we often feel is the only world that exists.

When working with businesses I encourage everyone to keep the interests of the business at heart all the time. If it’s good for the business then it’s good. Likewise if it’s good for the relationship or the community then it’s good.

I note Wilie Walsh the new CEO at British Airways quoted as saying he would do what was right for BA. This is how he leads with such confidence and vigor to get things done.

Imagine the difference if all energies had a common focus. What would our business, our relationships, our communities be like?

My own view on the most successful common focus is simply ‘to help others’. This way everyone is happier!
